Album Update

July 5th 2018

Greig Taylor will launch his new album at the Tolbooth Theatre on September 8th. A ‘Songbook’ style album, it follows on from the recent commercial success Greig had with his charity single in aid of the Scottish Association of Mental Health; a spine-tingling cover of Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark, recorded at the Tolbooth studio, which aimed to raise awareness around mental health and the positivity of music in relation to it.

The album follows a similar theme, with Greig and his eight-piece band re-imagining hits by a host of well-known artists, including Joe Cocker, Depeche Mode, Neil Diamond, Chris Rea, Paul Carrack and 80's rockers Foreigner, as well as covering songs by such diverse artists as Alicia Keys, Willie Nelson and Canadian country artist Johnny Reid. A real eclectic mix of classics and more obscure songs which he has reimagined in the studio with his first-class band. A 'Songbook' for the ages, performed in full at the Tolbooth Theatre on September 8th. Not to be missed!
